The innovative, if not revolutionary, element lies in the design of the wheel called Dual Profile, first developed by CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analyses, then perfected in the wind tunnel and by road tests, until the final shape of the carbon. An original modular profile that, combined with differentiated flask hubs, allows to have shorter radii, to the benefit of overall rigidity, without the cyclist having to give up pedaling comfort.

As with previous models, the new Shamal - Dual Profile adopts a unidirectional fibre design with C-LUX finish, a hidden device but fundamental for the quality of the final product: the sheets do not intersect but are arranged on each other according to a structure that allows the homogeneous distribution of mechanical loads along the direction of the fibres. A solution that, carried on the road, allows optimal driving in all conditions, by allowing the passage the use of more generous tires, especially for the gravel.

Engineering in constant evolution

In response to the ever-increasing demand for wheels equipped with tires of larger section to benefit the smoothness and comfort of the cyclist, the Shamal - Dual Profile wheels offer an internal channel with hook technology, capable of hosting a wide range of tire sizes, from 28 mm. The soul of Campagnolo's new Shamal wheels is also manifested in the 2 Way Fit system, which allows the cyclist to choose between the classic air-room tyre solution or tubeless solution, the latter being allowed by the top deck without holes, thus avoiding the use of adhesive tape. For the positioning of the nuts, the Shamal uses the MoMag system, which has proven its worth and guides the nuts in their housing using a magnet.

The spokes are arranged according to the G3 shelving geometry, emblematic signature of Campagnolo production, which provides seven branches with three parallel and differentiated rays in a ratio of 2 to 1: two rays on the side most stressed (the right in the rear wheel because of the cassette; the left at the front, because of the disc), balanced by a tractor beam on the opposite side. This patented system ensures the cyclist the perfect tension balance and the best rigidity for the transfer of power generated by pedals.

The fluidity of the new Shamal de Campagnolo is entrusted to aluminium hubs with cone-shuvet system, which allows easy maintenance of bearings. Compared to the previous model, the new materials adopted save more than 100 grams, for a total weight of 1,480 grams.
